No longer a working farm, the guesthouse is still home to a fair few chickens, ducks and cats. It's a haven for animal lovers and people seeking a retreat from city life in a secluded corner of countryside bliss.

The house itself looks out over serene lawned gardens and a small stream that flows past into a garden pond on one side, and the wooded valley hills on the other. Set back from a country road, you would be forgiven for thinking this was the middle of nowhere, but that's not quite true. There are several National Trust properties and beauty spots just a short drive away, so you'll never be short of something to do - and maybe find a reason to keep coming back to relax and unwind again and again.

A single night costs £35, but multiple nights come down to £27.50 per person per night, including a full English breakfast.
